Event videography and photography capturing the people and connections behind UNSW Co-NNECTIONS.
01Approach
Creative direction
The UNSW Co-NNECTIONS committee approached me to film and photograph What Comes Co-NXT, an event helping students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds explore their next steps at university and beyond.
The focus was on capturing the people and conversations behind the program: students sharing their experiences, alumni offering advice, and connections forming around new opportunities. I wanted the coverage to feel welcoming and energetic, reflecting the community Co-NNECTIONS is building.
02Process
Behind the scenes
Working across video and photography, I documented the event’s student and alumni talks, program booths and networking activities. This meant balancing coverage of the formal presentations with the smaller interactions that gave the day its personality.
I looked for moments of participation and connection throughout the room, showing students engaging with representatives, exploring different pathways and talking with one another. Together, these details helped communicate what attending the event actually felt like.
In the edit, I brought these moments together into a concise recap for LinkedIn and the UNSW website, giving the event a clear visual story that could reach beyond those who attended.
03Impact
Result & response
The project delivered an event recap video and a collection of photographs, giving the committee assets to share across professional and university channels.
The coverage highlighted how Co-NNECTIONS supports students in building confidence, developing their professional identity and finding opportunities. It also created a record of the community behind the program, bringing its purpose to life through the people taking part.
