A creator-led campaign film about turning skills and hesitation into the first step toward entrepreneurship.
01Approach
Creative direction
For Shopify, I developed a TikTok concept built around the idea that entrepreneurship starts before you feel ready. The film uses my own experience as a creator to speak directly to people who have skills, ideas, or an audience, but have not yet seen themselves as capable of building a business.
Rather than presenting Shopify as just a platform, the piece positions it as the bridge between creative potential and action.
02Process
Behind the scenes
The film was built through a highly controlled visual approach, using cinematic self-portraiture to turn a simple workspace into something more emotional and aspirational.
I filmed myself across a series of staged setups, using C-stands for overhead angles, controlled desk compositions, screen glow, softbox lighting, and focused spotlights to create depth and atmosphere. The goal was to make the internal feeling of hesitation, late nights, and creative ambition feel visually tangible.
03Impact
Result & response
The concept and creative direction were strong enough for Shopify to expand the collaboration before the final campaign had even gone live. After reviewing my profile and campaign direction, the Shopify team requested a second TikTok deliverable and additionally onboarded me into their Instagram campaign.
This early response showed the strength of the creative fit: a creator-led story that aligned closely with Shopify's mission to inspire entrepreneurship and encourage people to turn their ideas into something real.
