Focus on Mission

ShowreelCommercialPersonal

A high-energy commercial showreel built from recent work, craft details, tools, sound and motion.

01Approach

Creative direction

Focus on Mission is a high-energy showreel built from my recent commercial work, cut together as a visual statement of where my creative direction is heading. Rather than presenting the projects one by one, the film compresses them into a single rhythm, showing the brands, textures, tools, and visual instincts that have shaped my recent work.

Set to Fred again..'s "lights burn dimmer," the piece was designed to feel fast, tactile, and alive, less like a formal portfolio reel and more like a burst of creative momentum.

02Process

Behind the scenes

The edit begins with the craft behind the image: colour grading, a vectorscope expanding, my eyes reacting to the screen, and the grade shifting in real time. From there, the film moves through recurring visual motifs, nature, texture, grass dragged through motion blur, and details of the tools that empower the work: cameras, drones, lenses, rigs, and the act of creating itself.

As the energy builds, the film moves into my commercial projects, with CUPRA becoming a key visual and sonic turning point. The engine noise rises, the cuts become more aggressive, and the reel shifts from quiet craft into movement, speed, and impact.

03Impact

Result & response

This piece was created less as a campaign deliverable and more as a personal marker of progression. It gave my audience a concentrated look at the kind of commercial projects I had been working on, while also showing the skills behind them: cinematography, editing, colour, movement, sound, and visual direction.

More than anything, it was a satisfying piece to make. A way to gather the fragments of recent work and turn them into something cohesive, energetic, and mission-focused.
